Report - Creating and delivering effective presentations in English - a workshop with Brigitta Dóczi
On 25 September 2025, the ELTE Alumni Academy hosted an interactive online workshop on presentation skills, led by Dr. Brigitta Dóczi from the Department of English Applied Linguistics. The session focused on helping alumni and professionals sharpen one of today’s most essential workplace skills: effective communication.
Before the workshop, the representative of the International Alumni Chapter greated the participants, and coveyed the message of the event's supporter, the Alumni Center.
The workshop was divided into two parts. The first part of the session was a presentation by Dr. Brigitta Dóczi on how to design impactful presentations, covering material selection, slide structure, data visualization, and the use of templates and software. The second part was a discussion between the host and the participants. Participants were encouraged to practice in real time, making the event highly engaging and practical.
Dr. Dóczi, who has been teaching at ELTE since 1999 and specializes in language development, business English, and teacher training, brought both academic expertise and hands-on experience to the session.
Key takeaways highlighted the importance of clear design, confident delivery, and strong nonverbal communication. Attendees left with concrete strategies to improve their presentations, reinforcing the Academy’s mission to support alumni with career-relevant training.
This workshop was supported by the Alumni Center.
