The brightest stars of Hungarian opera will take the stage in the University's Ceremonial Hall on March 23, 2026, at 6 p.m., to treat the audience with an unforgettable experience through their voices and artistry. Three exceptional artists will give a world-class performance at ELTE in a memorable concert. If you love opera and authentic musical experiences, this is an evening not to be missed!The evening will feature one of the iconic figures of Hungarian opera, Eszter Sümegi, winner of the Kossuth Prize, distinguished and outstanding artist, permanent member of the Hungarian State Opera and the Immortals Company, who has sung with Placido Domingo on numerous occasions, among others. Her rich, lyrical and dramatic soprano voice has already impressed audiences at the Vienna State Opera and the Théâtre du Châtelet.Another featured performer at the concert is Levente Molnár, Liszt Ferenc Prize winner, distinguished artist, and one of the most acclaimed baritones of our time. His voice has already conquered the world's most prestigious opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, and the Berlin State Opera. On this evening, he will enchant the audience together with his students.The third star of the evening is Gergely Boncsér, bon vivant of the Budapest Operetta Theater and solo tenor of the Hungarian State Opera, who has conquered both the world of operetta and opera with his virtuoso performances and passionate voice. The evening will also feature the award ceremony for the 2026 prose writing competition "My ELTE Story."Registration for the event is required, which can be done by scrolling down.Admission is possible with the purchase of a 3,500 HUF supporter ticket, which can be purchased on site 1 hour before the concert. Students can purchase tickets for 2,000 HUF upon presentation of their ELTE student ID card.
