The Senate of ELTE has elected Lénárd Darázs, Professor, as the next Rector of the university, who will take up the post on 1 August 2025. The Senate of Eötvös Loránd University held its meeting on 24 February 2025. Three candidates applied for the positon of Rector: Lénárd Darázs, Professor, Vice-Rector for General Affairs of ELTE, Zoltán Horváth, Head of Department, former Dean and Vice-Rector for International Affairs, and Sándor Katz, Academic, Professor and Director of Institute.
