Eötvös Loránd University Maintains Its Position in the 501–600 Band of the ARWU World Ranking in 2025
Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) has retained its previous year’s result, ranking once again in the 501–600 category of the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) in 2025.The ARWU ranking was first published in 2003 by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and since 2009 it has been compiled by the independent organization ShanghaiRanking. Each year, around 2,500 universities are assessed based on publication output and the number of highly cited researchers, as well as the scientific awards received by alumni and current faculty members. Only the top 1,000 institutions are included in the list. More details about the methodology can be found in English on this page.
