We are delighted to announce that the Hungarian Railway History Park has joined the list of partners offering discounts with the ELTE Alumni Card: former students of our university can purchase tickets to Europe's first interactive railway park at a 20% discount!
The Hungarian Railway History Park opened its doors in the summer of 2000 at the former Északi Fűtőház traction depot at 95 Tatai út. The park covers an area of 70,000 m2 and welcomes visitors with more than a hundred railway vehicles, including nostalgic vehicles (e.g. the elegant teak dining car built in 1912 and associated with the Orient Express), locomotives, railcars, handcars and motorized trolleys, measuring cars, steam cranes, snow plows, snow blowers, and other special items. In one of Europe's largest open-air and first interactive railway museums, visitors can try out the various machines, travel on a large locomotive, sit in the Csajka railcar, drive a handcar, turn a turntable, or ride a horse-drawn railway. Regardless of age, the garden railway is a big favorite, where passengers can ride along exciting and varied routes pulled by real small locomotives. Further information
The Hungarian Railway History Park offers a 20% discount on the price of its standard admission tickets to ELTE graduates upon presentation of their ELTE Alumni Card.
The discount is only valid on the Park's regular opening days and does not apply to special events (e.g., Children's Day, Santa's Day) or externally organized events. Upon presentation of an Alumni Card, the discount can be applied to a maximum of 10 tickets per purchase.
